I collect records, and I’m really a nerd about that sort of thing. I’ll read the liner notes while I’m listening. If I really like a song, album, performer, or a band, I’ll do online research, too. That’s part of the fun of the hobby for me.

Who's the common denominator of these uncommon musicians?
— Jimmy Cobb
— Philly Joe Jones
— Tony Williams
— Lenny White
— Jack DeJohnette?
so, to me, the most significant decade is 1965–1975.
I am literally grinning from ear-to-ear, because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said the very same thing about music across the board. Regardless of genre, everything progressed at light speed in that window. Whenever anyone has asked the question here about everyone’s favorite decade of music, that’s always my answer.

@SW-User Absolutely agree. That decade changed everything. A quantum leap.

When you think about the genres and sub genres of music that were created in that window, it’s staggering. @helenS

No I don’t really care tbh
Also many songs I like are created by only one person using technology and/or them being multi-instrumentalists

I do know the names of the drummers on most of the songs I like.
