What does that song American Pie by Don Mclean' make you think of?

It's about the day buddy holly, ritchie valens and the big bopper died in a light plane crash..
The day the music died.

It makes me think of them good ole boys that were drinking whiskey and rye.

6th grade

Makes me wonder if it's "whisky and rye" (which doesn't make much sense, since rye is whisky) or "whisky in Rye" (which makes more sense and is kind of punny to boot).

But I wonder about lots of strange things.

It makes me think of plugging my ears for the two hours that it takes to get through that song.

I saw a video once where it explains the symbolism. There’s a ton of it.
