The middle of nowhere Ohio is where I grew up. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the Amish, but I grew up in an area where there were (and still are) people who use horse and buggies for transportation and have disavowed any modern technologies and conveniences. @Bootsiebaby

There are enclaves of Amish people in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and a few other places. They basically live like everyone lived prior to the Industrial Revolution. They have no electricity or any other things we use every day. However, there is some flexibility allowed where they can do things like ride in motor vehicles as long as they aren’t the ones operating them. For the most part, they keep to themselves and live in rather insulated communities. I don’t know a great deal about their origins or why they chose to forego the advances that were being made around them. I just grew up in a small town where they had their schools and customs, and we had ours. @Bootsiebaby
