@Bootsiebaby I had the Sambo book as a child and I never got the inferences. I wa sjust a story like Uncle Remus. And I grew up not hating blacks, whites or any other. I still do not get the hate.

Sambo's used to be a very popular chair restaurant. About 30 years back they changed their name to Sam's- that failed. Denny's bought most of them.

If I was not hating in 1962 or 63--when I read it, I see no reason to hate now.
