I Have Something I Just Have To Share

So I was reading my econ textbook, and it was talking about Repugnant market, and apparently, in the U.S, it's legal for a pregnant mother to give birth to a baby for another couple for pay. If they mean surrogates I'm all for it, and if a surrogate is the case why is U.S. one of the few countries that allow it?

Its called a surrogate mother.. People who want a kid and cant have one themselves pay like 20k for someone to have one for them.. Sometimes with their own sperm/egg(s)

@SStarfish I mean it should have specified surrogate, it sounds more like the pregnant money didn't want to have a baby. I know what a surrogate is
