Now You Know... Ok, so a public service announcement to the ladies. If you are going to a concert and get backstage passes, please be well aware of what that means.
Let me explain. I was a technician on a show for a well known country singer the other night at a large concert with over 11,000 people in attendance. After the show, a line of about 20 people started forming by one of the security checkpoints to the backstage area. All of the people in line were carrying a backstage pass. You see, many big name musicians have a guy who walks around before the show and hands out these back stage passes. You generally get two, one for you and one for a friend. Now, this guy is generally looking for females with young looks and skimpy clothing.
So this line is forming, most of the people in line are females, but among the mix are two couples. Finally when the guy comes out to take the tour of lucky backstage pass holders to see the sites, he lets them in, but explains that no men are allowed. This obviously caught the two couples off guard. So I watched, to see how this moral dilemma would play out, well the first couple debated and argued for a bit, but the guy finally let his girl go without him. The second couple struggled with the decision for even longer and finally decided to both leave together.
Guys, girls, seriously the back stage tours are not what you think. There is a reason why no guys were/are allowed. If you are looking to have sex with a famous person or band member or whatever, great! Have at it, but please be aware that it is not as glamourous as it sounds. Many times girls that end up on the busses are talked into doing many thing. Some are probably raped, who knows? Sometimes you get back off the bus in the same location you got on, sometimes its in the middle of nowhere or in the next town. If you get "lucky" enough to sleep with the star, maybe you'll get pregnant. When he denies knowing you, see how well that works out.
The point is, stars are also people, they just have lots of money to throw around and have lost touch with reality. If you want to have fun, find someone you can count on who will respect you and know your name at the end of the night. That poor sap who let his girl go, well he was still waiting around the exit for her when I was done working.... three hours later. I hate to tell ya bud, but when I went around back, all the busses were gone. I hope you get to see her again....and I hope she is still in the same condition you left her.
