Weakness and strength and if people can break.
Dicey · 26-30, F
@DarkHeaven You mean, like, you can still be considered a strong person even if you've broken down?
@Dicey Yeah. Or the fact that I used to think I was strong and unbreakable until I was broken... and I realized I was not nearly as strong as I thought and everything breaks... it’s merely a matter of time and pressure, but yet I survived... so I guess there’s different types of strength as well.

@DarkHeaven That's an interesting perspective on it!
@Dicey I’m unique. Not sure that’s a good thing... but it is a me thing.

@DarkHeaven It's a good lesson, though not a good experience. I think it teaches us compassion for people who we might have thought in the past should just get their act together.

Many of our coping patterns were developed in childhood and we retained them if they work. Sooner or later they may get pushed to breaking point... what's underneath isn't fun. But we can learn better resilience patterns. I did that in my path from really strong => descent into chronic depression => the path out.
@Abstraction It’s a good point. I have compassion that I never would have had without it but it was literal hell getting it.

@DarkHeaven Oh yeah, I know that hell. But you're a deeper person because of it, I'm sure. Hard earned, but it glows like gemstones from within someone when you meet it.
