I Have Never Met You But I Care

I know that I have never met you. I know I probably never will. I switch on my computer and like a wish I have not yet made there you are. I feel I have known you for years. Part of you is with me always, and part of me is with you too. You know what I'm thinking. You know what I'm feeling. You say just the right thing at the right time. You seem to lighten my load when it gets heavy. You listen without judgment. You are always there to help me in the way that only you can. For I have never known a friendship that is like ours.

Same here, dear. I am so besotted with you, too, that I can hardly think of anything else. I can walk down the street with you holding your hand, and sing your favorite song in public like I am the one who wrote it for you just because you are the woman that I love. I could make out with you on the couch. Who said anything about watching that movie? I just think it would be groovy that you were here with me in the dark except for the candles that would be barely illuminating the room, giving off a scent that would remind me of the first time I met you. I would not even have to make that up because the look in your eyes would tell me that you remember it too. Then, we can feed each other over a candlelight dinner, and afterwards I can take a shower or a bath with you, or we can walk beneath December stars until our bones are chilled enough to require hot chocolate by a warm fire. You see, I can be romantic, too, despite what everyone says about me, because they never really took the time to get to know the man that you now know. Just you remember... romance, it goes both ways.
