I Am Done

My grandmother used to say, "If you look for something long and hard enough, you usually find it... Even if it doesn't really exist."

For most of my life, I had no idea what she meant by this, and figured she was speaking about things like car keys or lost shoes.

It wasn't until I was older and she was gone that I really began to understand. What she was talking about has nothing to do with the physical at all, but more the emotional and spiritual.

People often complain about the world and others in it, without realizing that they are seeing exactly what they are looking for and want to see. I am guilty of this just like everyone else.

"The world is a cesspool, and human beings are evil, disgusting creatures..."this is because that is what you expect to see, and so that is what you focus on to confirm your bias. "People who voted for that person, or believe that way are idiots and disgusting..." Again, exactly what you want to see, and so it becomes your reality.

I'm done with the hostility, the mindless mob mentality, and the constant self inflicted bitterness.

Maybe, rather than arguing over which celebrity, news personality or politician is making the world better or worse, we each need to focus on what we ourselves (as individuals) are doing to improve our part of it. Rather than demanding others live by our standards, beliefs and judgements, we need to start trying to understand why other think and feel as they do.

Personally, I'm fed up with being called certain names because I don't follow a certain political ideology, or see things the way others demand. I'm through with arguing with others simply because they don't see the world as I do or vote for the people I support.
And, I am done with people whom set fire to the world then whine about the flames.

Maybe my grandmother was right. Maybe the world is a bad place because that is all we are looking for, and so that is all we see.

And yes, by the way, this applies to every aspect of our lives, not just politics. Maybe all men appear to be liars and cheaters because that is what you seek out. Maybe all women ignore you or treat you bad because you expect them to. Just something to think about...

Rant over.

You are absolutely correct in my opinion and so was your Late grandmother.

I was born and raised on a tobacco farm. My father still says to this day what I never understood until I had experienced my own grand epiphany in life. He says, "Today's harvest is only as bountiful as yesterday's intent, regardless of the weather in-between".

It wasn't until I had finally perfected the Art of Manifestation as it applied to myself in my daily life, did I finally clue-in to what he had always known about this thing called 'manifestation of intent', yet never told me about along the way.

He always inferred to me at planting time in the Spring, that if you only have poor seed or poor seedlings at your disposal to plant, always tell those seeds as you hold them, that they are the finest specimens in the land and they will produce more than all the very best seeds combined. Knowing what he was actually saying as he spoke to those seeds, I told him regularly that he was nuts.

What I never understood was, that if you believe something is of poor quality and low-yield potential, you are setting that thought in motion and what you will manifest in the end, is exactly what you have believed-in all along in your mind.

If you tell yourself you have garbage, you will manifest more garbage. If you tell yourself that you are unworthy of better, you will manifest more 'unworthy of better'. If you tell yourself that you want the very best as if you have already received it in your hand, you will manifest more of the best. Its a primary Law of the Universe which your grandmother was obviously in tune with as well. If you think bad thoughts, your eyes will only be presented with bad outcomes, just as she inferred.

When you say something to yourself as you try to sound as convincing to yourself as you possibly can, such as..[/c] "Maybe all women ignore you or treat you bad because you expect them to"... [c=#008099]you will actually manifest all women that you subsequently meet, to then ignore you or treat you badly ..because you want them to. By giving power to that thought by first believing it, you then manifest that thought as if you had fully intended that thought to be true, thus bringing it to fruition and being not at all surprised when it arrives.

Anytime you start out by setting the ground rules for your own expectations in life, you can NEVER say to the universe what you DON'T want... Every thought you think, every word of intent you say, comes to fruition through unconsciously subscribed manifestation. You therefore ONLY say, what you DO want... and be as detailed and precise as your mind will allow you to manifest those images.

And never, ever say to yourself or a handful of seeds for that matter, "You will never amount to anything of interest". And just as your grandmother inferred, you have to say what you 'want', expect to receive what you 'say' and expect to see what you 'thought'.

As my father still says and I now understand, "Today's harvest is yesterday's intent. Today's thought however, will be tomorrow's harvest, so choose well today and decide today what tomorrow's harvest will look like, be it good or bad it matters not what you choose, it all takes the same amount of time to harvest!"[/c]
@swirlie well said. Another great proverb along these lines would be "you reap what you sow".
