To answer my own question, I just got a free trial without having to enter card info. I see lots of shows I currently watch on cable, and old shows I'd like to watch again

There are a lot of decent illegal streaming sites now to watch both new and old shows. You can cast it to your TV.
Sometimes these sites get shut down but here is a really good one with a lot of current shows
