Did they care when Billy Dee Williams played Harvey Dent?
There's been some talk on this site and on others about people supposedly losing their minds because Disney's live action Ariel is black. I looked around a bit and it seems to be maybe three or four people who have a problem with it. Or maybe one guy trying to troll us all. More likely the later.
One post even asked what we would all say if Martin Luther King JR were cast as a white guy. Yeah, a real person vs a mythical creature. Now there is a valid comparison. 馃檮
Did they care when Billy Dee Williams played Harvey Dent? Or when he was later recast as Tommy Lee Jones in the sequel? Or Sam Jackson playing Nick Fury? Or when Eartha Kitt (and later Halle Berry) played Catwoman? Or John Legend as Jesus Christ?
These characters have the distinction of being human beings, although still fictional characters. Why do they suddenly give a rat's rectum when it's a black girl playing a freaking fish?
