far from the campfire,
yet -ears intent,
focused for details,
fangs glistening in starlit moonglow,
lolling tongue dripping
lupine secrets of a time before...
before the trains,
before the guns,
before the cast iron frying pan
sent tendrils
of hot fat aroma
to my dreamscape
