I Hope . . .

Getting her hopes up high
like a castle of cards,
is it a surprise
when they fall
fall
fall
on the ground
below?

As the cards of hope
land on the ground,
so does the high
droop into sorrow.

But the hope has
tiny
invisible
wings
and there it goes again
flying high,
not caring of the lows below.
