There are many types of intelligence. Some people are creative. Others have book smarts, while some may be good with their hands or have a flair for being mechanical. My grandfather only had an 8th grade education, and he was one of the brightest people I have ever known. Over time, kids eventually see those traits in their parents. Don't be hard on yourself.
