I Resent My Upbringing

I think that my parents were too lenient and did not do enough to prepare me for the world and they let me get away with way too much. I think it is only the fact that I have above average intelligence that I managed not to become a juvenile delinquent. I don't resent them, just their parenting style, since I have come to believe children should always respect their parents

I think all of us can look back on our childhood and see things which are parents could've done better. Like some of us can look back on our own parenting and seen the mistakes we make. We just asked the kids to forgive us our mistakes. Hopefully you've grown up a reasonable human being but don't use your upbringing as an excuse for life's failures as some of the greatest people who ever lived had a disadvantage background
