What more do you think should be done to help today’s Veterans

USA vets

Same as other countries - VETS first, immigration last

Free housing, free comprehensive healthcare, free job training, and most importantly of all, an end to stupid and pointless wars.

I think that Veterans who have been or are in the process of being killed by the negligence of their own VA doctors should not be ignored, as a friend of mine has been ignored.

I have a friend who had a tumor in his lung TWO YEARS ago, and the specialist at the VA hospital knew about it. Pathology recommended a CAT Scan. The CAT Scan was never done. His primary care physician was never notified.

He has gone in to see these retarded clowns over and over and over again since that time, with pain, coughing, shortness of breath... and not one of them has read his records or picked up on that little item.

Now, two years later, he has stage 3 B lung cancer and if he is very lucky, he has one year left to live.

He has had to leave the VA health care system to receive decent medical care, and will not go back.

Better medical care, both physical and psychological, with professionals who will actually listen to them and give them the help they need

Not have the VA hospital be a joke.

@MrBrownstone I’ve been in the VA health care system for 13 years in 3 states. My experience has been equal to or greater than the rest of my family in the civilian environment, but there is always room for improvement.

Well said. I was thinking more of my own country’s vets (USA) when I wrote this post, but thanks for bringing this to my attention.@RodneyTrotter
If one takes the initiative, there are amazing benefits and programs for vets. I think the president has it just about right as it is. Everything from HUDVASH to the program that allows us to use civilian doctors when we are unable to get to the VA out patient clinics. The VA has literally saved my life on more than one occasion. If there was were many more benefits, we would be bordering on the unrealistic and impractical. We deserve some help, but we don't all deserve 40 acres and a mule team!

Free housing and a monthly stipend for starters. Free quality healthcare is another thing I'd like to see

free housing for them
