Should the United States of America be the world's police?

We often seem to take on that role in the conflicts we get involved in. It's often not for better.

Is this a role that we simply have to be in as a wealthy superpower?

That's a bit of a misconception perpetrated, generally by Republicans.
What tends to happen is that events are made known. May even get as far as discussion within the U.N.
Then America seems to pick a fight with one side over another of it's own accord (depending on their 'interest' in the region) and screws with anything worked out by other member states as the U.S. then hides behind a 'veto' for anything under discussion.
No ya wonder why most of the rest of the world hates America thats exactly why

We DO have to have allies...trump is knocking them down one by one...don't think we are untouchable...we can be taken down in no time if we are alone.

It's a thin line between being the police and enforcing your will ...

We are not wealthy
All it would take is a couple of Beefeaters. Just send them over to any offending country to stand stoically and shout, "STEP AWAY FROM THE QUEENS GUARD!"
All this bombing and stuff is pure overkill.

I KNOW?! 😒I've often wondered about this too.
