Stop and look at the weeds.

Today I stopped to listen. I just had a little bit of the sense today I had time to stop and listen. And so...

I stopped and one counter when picking up supplies and paused to chat a bit... I listened to a mother that I had greeted for years, but never had the time to stop and talk to. Today, I got to know her from the inside. She is a mother who is beautiful in the inside. She shared how her daughter has cerebral palsy, and we exchanged the heartache that comes with loving your children and not being able to protect them from the world 100% of the time.

Later, I sat down with a co-worker and I learned that she sees beauty in the tiniest creation we call weeds, while walking her outside, she bent over and plucked a weed. There was a voice in my head saying, “that’s a weed! And they spread like crazy! They are hard to get rid of.” Her words overshadowed the ones in my head she said, look, people call these weeds, but take a very close look... see the miniature flowers are perfectly and beautifully made! She plucked another one and showed it to me and said, we live in an amazing world, and we don’t even realize tiny treasures that surround us! Then she walked over to another spot and plucked a different weed, she said “look here is a different and yet it’s just as pretty. “ Instead of seeing a weed she forced me to look at the beautiful flower. Talk about miniature. When I focused on the flower, I saw that it was an amazing and miniature creation. She continued as if trying to get thru to me, “look at it, it’s perfectly made, it has been created for a purpose we may not know what it is. We are surrounded by beauty, but we don’t even notice the small things”

A lot of those weeds may be medicine or food that we haven’t learned about yet.
