I Hate The Way This World Has Become

How can we talk about progress when people are dying or hurting themselves due to excess of work?

It is in Asia we hear a lot of these sad things. I often wonder why it is that we have so much work to do here and we can't finish it and there in the Western Hemisphere people have no jobs.

My puny mind cannot make sense of it. Are we obsessed with control, order and measurement so we create a mountain of work for ourselves? I often get the feeling that I do the job of two people. It is very very tiring.

It is not your mind. It has no sense that in wealthy countries people are dying because they take too much work, and governments who allow it must be held accountable.

@novembermoon: This is heartbreaking. The very fact that there is a specific word in Japanese language like karoshi shows how huge the problem is.
It looks that authorities are starting to care about it, but their efforts look really shy.

People are becoming slaves of their own creation: society.
