I Hate The Way This World Has Become
Taking a look at online media today felt like puking even more strongly than usual. People are infected with coronavirus by thousands, dying every day, but the headlines were telling about how stocks markets are plummeting.
I teach Econs at high school. I know how important economy is. But one of the things I tell my students is to pay attention to what Econs is about. It is about finding the most efficient way to allocate scarce resources to cover our material needs. But there is so much in our lives beyond that scheme.
We have affections, loyalties, feelings, values, instincts. There is biology, and religion, and blood, and culture. Economy is just a part of our lives. It is NOT life.
