Unwritten/Unspoken rules should be unfollowed rules.
Yes, I know this is an unpopular opinion. Here's my reasoning. If whoever made the rule didn't put in the time or effort to write it down somewhere or say it out loud, why should I put in the time and effort to follow your silly rule? If I don't follow your rule, it's your fault for not writing it down. How am I (or anyone else for that matter) supposed to know it even exists if it's unwritten and unspoken?
Once you say or write down the rule, THEN I'll analyze it and decide if it's worthy of being followed. Until then, I'll ignore it.
