How do I let down someone easy without offending them?

This girl at my job has been crushing on me and flirting with me, dropping all kind of hints. She's extremely fragile so I wanna be very cautious.

"Letting someone down easy" is usually a very bad idea. You give them hope that way, which is essentially cruel because if what you say here is true, you do not return her affections. It is better to be clear.

You can be tactful in the way you state it, but be clear, keep it short and do not give her any hope that if she persists, you'll change your mind. And please don't, out of misplaced guilt, try to act as her therapist and "help" her "understand" why you are rejecting her flirtation. That is not your job and that will not help. Just be very clear.

Think of it as freeing her up so she can then be available for someone who is genuinely attracted to her, too. The sooner she faces facts, the sooner she can find someone who fully appreciates her.

@greenmountaingal no matter how I do..its still rejection. I cant control her reaction

@Revamped No, but you can be clear and just state that you are not feeling reciprocal. Her reaction is not your responsibility because, as you say, you can't control it.

Well (in the theme of this being in the lGBT section) tell her you're gay. 😎
