I Say We All Have Choices

[big]NOBODY CHOOSES TO BE UNHAPPY[/big]

Some of us take longer to discover what is making us unhappy. Too many people in this old world tell us that this is what we should have in order to be happy, productive people. Yet no two people need the exact same recipe for their perfect happiness. It's discarding the toxins from our lives, that lets us start realizing we are allowed to find or create our own recipe for contented living.

Some people live all their lives with someone who tells them they are useless, unworthy, stupid, shouldn't have been born, etc. They don't choose to be miserable, but believe it's what they deserve because the important people in their lives have told them so.

When we are sad or depressed or feeling hopeless, we go to therapists, get medication, and yet, we still feel unworthy of true joy. Why? . Where did we get the idea that we don't deserve to be happy? Why do we think that unless we do certain things and behave in a certain way, we will never find happiness? I think it's because, at some point, someone who had some powerful influence in our developing psyches, told us so.

I think, if we can discover who and why, we can dispose of either the message they gave us, or if they are still part of our lives, we can walk away from them, we will then begin to heal ourselves.

My 2nd ex-wife chose to be unhappy, and tried to force her choice on everyone around her, too.

I chose to be happy.

@EnigmaticGeek Which is why I have narrowed my circle to just the people who actually like me as I am, and even when they disagree with me they respect me enough to do it in a positive manner. I don't need a lot of people, just a few good ones are good enough for me.

@Serenitree Great minds think alike! I feel the same way. I consider it a privilege for someone to be in my life, and for me to be in theirs, and I make every effort to treat them accordingly.

@EnigmaticGeek Yes. That's how we create our happiness.
