I Am Against Inbreeding Of Humans

Having been born into an incest family and surviving horrific childhood abuse, I was doing my genealogy and did my DNA test, and I found out my parents are related. At first I thought they were 1st cousins,but it turns out they are 2nd cousins.

Incest had gone back at least 3 generations in my family before I was born,so I consider it very lucky that my parents were not more closely related.I do have several health problems because my parents were second cousins as well,but if my parents would have been more closely related it could have been much worse.

Honestly, I figured my father could have been my grandfather,uncle or my mom's 1st cousin,so I am really really grateful my parents were not more closely related.

Some of the DNA mutation I inherited because they were related are;

Methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) both C677T and A1298C mutations

Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Higher risk for all mental illnesses-ADHD,Schizophrenia, Bipolar,Major Depressive Disorder, DID,and PTSD

Lower response to psych meds

Less resistance to PTSD

Obesity (I did lose over 100 pounds last year,though.)

Partial Seizure Disorder

There are others,but these are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

The troubles I have are bad enough,but it is harder to see what my children have inherited because my parents were related.

I have one son who has a leg several inches shorter than the other and my children,and half of my grandchild,have mild seizure disorders.

I am so very happy to see the lessening of these disorders,because I overcame the long history of incest in my family,and my children and grandchildren never knew any abuse at all. My family line is no longer inbreed and my children and grandchildren are healthier because of this.

I am against inbreeding of humans for so many reasons,this is just one tiny reason.
