I Believe We Need a New Political Party

The fringe groups on both extremes now have become so polarized that the greater good of ALL Citizens in general has been lost to fundamental ideology of either organization.

I am a member of an ever increasingly rare breed. A Centrist American.

I believe in :

A strong and secure America.

The right to bear arms.

Both freedom of and freedom FROM religion.

A woman's right to choose.

Fair wage.

Affordable healthcare and housing for CITIZENS.

An impartial justice system and appropriate penalties of law. Equally applied.

Advancement based on MERIT. Not color. Gender. Creed or Wealth.

Fair retirement and disability for Veterans. Disabled children and adults. And senior citizens.

Free speech (excluding treasonous subversion)

And if these beliefs mean we cannot be friends. So be it. These beliefs are true and just. They are what America is truly made of. I won't compromise on them.

The solution to the issue is term limits for congress. We don’t allow many octogenarians to drive , much less make critical decisions that affect the lives of millions... and I suspect that others tell these 30+ year politicians how to think and what to say . It’s the breeding ground of the corruption we have now ... it has to stop .

An informed electorate can term limit their representative at any re-election. Unfortunately most are too lazy to become truly informed and take the easy way out voting for the familiar name rather than based on merit and results. This is likely an unsolvable problem to be perfectly honest.

In addition, you have a bureaucracy class that are in government for life that are pulling the strings. Do you think that the representative actually writes the legislation, much less reads the legislation they are voting on? The bureaucrats have much more power than the actual representatives and that is the true problem. Term limits will not solve this.

@goliathtree it might in that there won’t be as much opportunity to corrupt the elected official and it would be easier to trace undue influence.
