Biking elitism

I didn’t realize biking was so competitive. I recently fixed up some old bike I got from my dad and started using it to travel to work and I couldn’t help but notice how older dudes dressed in bike tights were stink eyeing me for passing them. Like I ain’t trying to race haha I’m just running late for work. I just use my bike for transportation because it beats walking when you’re traveling far out here in Arizona. It ain’t a fancy bike either but it gets the job done. It’s so old and ugly but I don’t care. I do sometimes fall off cuz the little round chain thing with the teeth is wearing down and so the chain sometimes slips but other than that it works just fine. I’m guessing these people are just really competitive about biking lol. I never saw an interest in it but yeah these dudes got the colorful glasses and everything haha😄 Sometimes they’ll start racing me too and then look back at me with a tense look.
