A question of etiquette.

As a visitor in someone's home: do you bring a small thing like a cake or is it up to the host to provide victuals?
Either way is actually fine, if you feel moved to do so. It would be a nice gesture, but don't do it if your heart is not in it.

If I was invited for dinner, I'd bring wine, flowers or chocolates.
I think the host should provide cookies or cake. That is if the host invited you. I don't like getting visitors uninvited though. I like to get prepared (cleaning the house even more than other days LOL, getting the cake or cookies, asking if they want to join dinner or if it's a short visit..)
