I used to travel about every other week with my job, it was boring for the most part not knowing many people. Sometimes I would go golfing, have a few drinks at the hotel bar after dinner but mainly just stayed in my hotel. Glad those days are over basically.
Local sites/attractions. I work in IT, so during my downtime, I try to shy away from technology as much as possible. Enjoy the outdoors as much as I can.
I did some business travel years ago when I was your age. There was very little downtime as we always worked late and then got ready for the next day's work. What little downtime there was was mostly just hotel TV. Today there are many more options with smartphones and the internet for example.
I try to get out of hotel room as much as possible, otherwise it can get so boring! I read a lot so often find a quiet cafe or restaurant and eat and read. I travel in Europe so also walk a lot in the evenings in our beautiful city squares etc. . Oh, and I waste time on here lol

I tried to sight seeing a bit, and hated the hotel bars, they are really everywhere the same.
I use it to learn things that I don't seem to have time for when I'm at home. It gives me a chance to really focus on whatever it is that I am interested in at the time.

I just returned from a trip.
I ate dinner, then took a long walk; trying to see how many different country's soil on which I was able to set foot.
