I was recently feeling like that. I quit and it’s like a weight is lifted. Good luck
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@McCormac do you have work lined up

TheHealthyWorld · 36-40, M
I have never worked for anyone else since I was a teenager but if I did I wouldn't last a day being miserable at work. That means I can't do my job right. Your happiness, mood, mental and emotional health is far more important than any job. Sorry that's just my opinion
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@TheHealthyWorld agreed. What do you do
TheHealthyWorld · 36-40, M
@iamnikki I am a mechanic ( master technician)
ExtremeNext · 36-40

@Darksideinthenight1 same. I don't see how I've lasted this long. I keep having the same problem
SW-User
I sometimes think of that too
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@SW-User what do you do now?
LilPrincess · 46-50, F
I completely understand. I have been with the same company for 7 1/2 years. I started out in inventory, worked my way into hr, then moved to quality.

I write all the documents, proficient in Microsoft, OSHA certified equipment trainer, and know everything about our system. Not to mention perfect attendance until I was hospitalized early this year.

What really done it for me was getting passed over for a promotion to someone that is completely clueless but a full time ass kisser.

I just accepted a new position at work that puts me on night shift and away from all the bs.

Good luck to ya. As I was ready to throw in the towel something good came along
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@LilPrincess oh man. That sucks. I wonder about that. Like if i should be more friendly with the supervisor. I see others do it, and like you mentioned, I'm sure they'd be the ones to get ahead. I'd love to do night shift work. To get away from coworkers and the stressful home situation
LilPrincess · 46-50, F
@iamnikki where I work they are the ones that do. It took me 7 1/2 years of dedication and hard work but it did pay off. I am actually the only one that holds 2 college degrees.

I have applied for other jobs but often get told I am over qualified.

You sound like you are a hard worker. Indeed is a great place to look for employment. I put my resume on it and get calls from headhunters all the time.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@LilPrincess I have heard of folks saying they put their resume on indeed. I've never done that but I think I will. Thanks
SW-User
I would quit.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I only work where I am happy and content - what type of work do you do
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@nedkelly hospital. How do you get lucky as to find that type of work
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@iamnikki I deal with people in financial trouble, most are domestic violence, mental health issues
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@nedkelly I see. I think I've spoke to you about work before. I'm trying to go into social services, social work etc.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I don't like my job either. I've been there for almost a year. It's boring and I don't like most of my co workers. I wish I could just quit. I'm not having much luck looking for another job. I can't just quit though, I have kids I need to support. I fucking hate it so much.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@iamnikki right now I'm working as a pawn broker.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@HowtoDestroyAngels what is that?
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@iamnikki people get loans from me for their items which they can pay for later to get back.
SW-User
What do you do?
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@SW-User hospital
SW-User
@iamnikki oh yeah, hospitals are tough.
Not never. Life is too short to hate my job,
PirateMonkeyCabinet · 36-40, M
Until I either found a backup (another job or some kind of monetary flow/savings I can survive on) or until I got ill.
