I'm approximately four miles round trip. Very fortunate.
I travel 15 minutes to my job...
zeeva70 · F
Less than 10 minutes each way. However, I have a new job that begins in a few weeks and and the commute will increase to probably 25 minutes each way.

20 mins. 30 in bad weather

@submissivelittlewoman today is like a Spring day here... next week it'll probably be a blizzard. 🤪
@SW-User same weather here today...only after getting a dumping of snow overnight...and they are calling for a few more cm overnight tonight. I can't wait for spring!

SW-User
@submissivelittlewoman yeah we're getting snow too.

It's 65 minutes if the train and bus times coincide well. More like 70 minutes if I get the train and walk. But coming home, the trains are so full, there's sometimes no room for any more people, and the longest journey home was just over four hours.
monte3 · 70-79, M
My old commute was between 40 minutes and an hour depending on traffic. I sympathize with your situation, the hour was about what I could stand. At least you have trains to ride, my commute was entirely by car, which added more stress.

Around 20 minutes

Twenty minutes

This brings up ano5her question: how much time can you spend commuting before you have to consider moving? For me an hour was the outer limit. I realize that there are multiple conflicting motivations at play. Here.

25 minutes

Never been able to walk to work mostly 40+ mile commute throughout my career such a waste of time possibly. Driving I listened to music. On train I read a lot.
Hotelroom38 · 51-55, M
I have home Office 2 days per week, but my drive is 90minites so have to be up early to miss the traffic or it would be 120 minutes

That's a long distance if you are driving. I travel like around 15kms on bike but it's a different thing

SW-User
5 miles away,so anything between 10-25 mins in the car,and 25mins on a bicycle (taking the short cuts)
river52 · 70-79, M
imagine the Los Angeles freeways.....it can take 90 minutes to go 20 miles.....
nevergiveup · M
I have to go to where the work is. Sometimes it close sometimes 100 miles away

SW-User
About 6 miles. It takes 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
Tracos · 51-55, M

I did have an hour commute one way ...
It shaves years off your life. The sitting is terrible for your body.

I did this during two years, now it's 4/5 minutes by car, far better
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
My office is as far as some steps on a stair from my living room.
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
