I've seen stuff on it but never heard it myself. I don't like to make assumptions so I'm open to all that it could be

@Tinybad: I wonder if something in the atmosphere could be causing the sounds.
Tinybad · 41-45, F
Definitely a possibility. Just because we can't see something doesn't mean it couldn't exist. I believe there are alot of things existing that we can't literally see
Snapper · 36-40, M
@Tinybad: I believe that, too.

Nope.
But there is a noise that radiates through the sky over my house occasionally in the middle of the night. No idea what it is or where it is coming from.

@TwiddlerOfThumbs: That actually sounds pretty good. I've heard that theory. Our planet can be loud at times.

@Snapper: I just hope it doesn't mean there is something wrong with the transmission. ~smiles~ The sound obviously has a source.. the whole tree falls in the woods thing...it may be man made. But with as loud and... its not just a sound. you can feel it.
now mind you, I live under the flight path of the airport. I hear planes day and night. Usually not low flying planes, but occasionally. So I am certain it is not them nor does it have anything to do with them. Mainly due to the duration and the volume of the sound. That when it fades, its quick to do so but does increase in volume again on occasion before it goes away completely.
It would be fun to know the source for certain.

@TwiddlerOfThumbs: Sometimes not knowing is pretty fun, too. It would be interesting to know, though.

@JiminyCricket: Well, the trumpets might not be a good description. It sounded like horns. You may have seen/heard it online.

@Dragon56: It could be.
