1.are they the same people?
2.do they want to get rich?
3.do they want to get richer?
4.do they care?
5.do they mean what they say?

The poor doesn't stay poor, and the rich isn't getting richer.
Profit and greed, power and fear, trust and control, secrets and lies, disease and death; construction and destruction, war and peace, weak and strong, poor and rich...

At some point, you stop caring about what other people say or do, and forget about the money.

Bad choices vs good choices, generally. In the US at least, if you work consistently, don't have kids before getting married, and graduate high school you have an 85% chance of at least being middle class. That is, 85% of the people who do those three things will be in the middle class or better.

As for the rich getting richer, that's a myth usually spoken by politicians who themselves are getting richer and voters who believe those politicians. The people in the top 1%, the ones we're supposed to hate, are constantly changing. People rise into and fall out of the 1% all the time. Same goes for wealthy, middle class, and poor. That's wealth mobility. Wealth mobility is down compared to the past, mainly due to a stagnate economy, but it still exists and it's still going strong. And it's still a good thing.
