When are you sure that it is a real friend?

So I would call you when I have the worst problem ever and would ask for your help for a hug anything. And if you stay and listen then I know that you are a real friend. Simply as that.

You may say that. But I would offer an ear and a hug to a virtual stranger (have done actually, more than once) and when they went on their way, I might never see them again.

I can't imagine turning a friend down if I'm willing to be there for a stranger.

or... someone who's been with you for years and years... through thick and thin and loves you for what and who you are and will 'take a bullet' for you... and you feel the same.
