If you're not suppose to abuse the cough syrup, why does it come with a shot glass?

I was asked my date of birth at a Rite Aid recently, when buying a bottle of syrup containing only dextromethorphan.
What rot, I said.
Then I learned that it enhances the effect of hydrocodone, by lowering any built up tolerance.

Anyone have info on this ?

Dextromethorphan is in the Morphine family and Hydrocodone too is an Opioid, it sounds more like they simply trying to prevent Opioid overdose.

Dextro. is in the Morphine family ? Where did you get that ?
It would be a controlled substance, prescrip only.
It has no dope effect, sold as non-drowsy.
But, I did find that bit about the enhancement.
