Depends on the subject.

Sometimes I’m looking for advice, other times I’m just blowing off steam
Most times though, it’s pretty clear to the listener, what I’m looking for from them 😊

Just a listener. I usually don't even talk about my problems unless I already have a solution, or there just isn't one and I have to accept it.

mostly i vent to myself and listen for solutions. rarely i vent to someone, but when i do it's really brainstorming so i'm also listening for solutions

Venting is hard. I really prefer to do most of it here where I can talk myself around to some kind of understanding or acceptance most efficiently. It’s not so much that I want an ear to listen, but the possibility someone might read it helps me keep my thoughts reasonably coherent. And I like the fact no one HAS to read it. I have great difficulty verbalizing what I feel is negative and generally feel bad if I do. When I’m just growling in frustration at immediate circumstances (can’t figure out how to make something work or such), I appreciate solutions offered calmly.

Both.. dont offer solutions though if youre not familiar with the topic or forcing it.

Unusually just someone to listen. If i open up that means i really need it. I tend to act like I'm perfectly fine

Depends on the situation. But when I’m looking for suggestions for solving the problem, generally that’s what I’ll lead with ("someone, help !"). 😅
