Most definitely, walking is a great way to stay fit. Need to do it at least four times a week
Other overall exercise to stay fit (just an FYI) is horseback riding and swimming

It depends on the amount of walking and how fast you walk
Of course you can, it's low intensity, aerobic exercise.
