@MrsCurious why though?

Gboard. To my knowledge Swiftkey isn't available on Androids nor does it have both a user dictionary and predictive text as apart of the keyboard with multiple languages.

I have even used Gboard for keyboard shortcuts for the editing options on here. Such as the following:

[big][c=1F5E00]𝓗𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓪 𝓰𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓭𝓪𝔂! 😊[/c][/big]

As well as I can have multiple sets of shortcuts for every language.

@DeWayfarer I'm on Android 11 and using SwiftKey not sure it has all those feature but I like it. Fast and responsive to my typing / swiping style ie I combine the two frequently.

@OldBrit I believe I tried it once. And then it didn't have the "personal" dictionary on the keyboard nor predictive writing then.

Both on the actual keyboard is totally necessary! Not having to go into the settings to change anything is key here. Just press on the wheel icon or long press the space bar.

And I just don't have to go in the settings with Gboard. It's right on the keyboard itself. Not just language.

"Swiping" is totally unnecessary. It's a keyboard after all. You have to swipe you loose your context, which is totally necessary.

Fact is I refuse to use swiping on any site. I always loose the previous contexts and the refreshing slows things down since it must refresh the page.

With Gboard it doesn't refresh the page. The page remains the same until you actually switch the page.

And no I don't use googles scribble context either (glide typing) nor voice typing. Too invasive. Both are totally disabled in many ways.

Note I double checked this three times just to be sure just now. No refresh!!!

Actual keyboard shortcuts are infinitely quicker!

Another example:

[big][c=#BF6900]𝓗𝓸𝓹𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓹𝓼 😁[/c][/big]

This is represents this with spaces so you can see the whole SW sequence:

Keystroke long press "e" select é.
[ center][ b][ big][ c=#BF6900]𝓗𝓸𝓹𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓹𝓼 😁[ /c][ /big][ /b][ /center]
Keyboard shortcut for the quotes because I don't have to scroll.

I even have complete urls as keyboard shortcuts:

My post on Gboard keyboard shortcuts for SW. Say if you have anything similar with the Swiftkey app:

I can do exactly the same for any computer language in existence in any text editor or word-processing app and on the spot changing it at anytime even on any website as long as a keyboard is being used.

OldBrit · 61-69, M
@Thexboxoneguy1991 see my answer elsewhere. I find it faster, more responsive and accurate than others. I'm on android 11 btw
