'round here you have to pay for a permit to have one, or else the city can (and will) cite you and it's like a $500 fine. Permit costs something like $45 per day and specifies that your sale must take place between certain hours (8-4, I think). To hold a two-day sale over the weekend would cost me 'bout $90 just for the permit. Will I even sell $90 worth of junk? Maybe break even if I'm lucky? Costs nothing to just put that junk in the alley.

@SomeAreBoojums Oh really.... whereabouts do you live? I’ve never heard of that! You’re right! It doesn’t seem worth it!

I did years ago. I had everything on tables in the driveway and had my dog in the garage. Some lady comes over with an armful of stuff saying "I give you quarter" I say no and she starts screaming at me. Bad move, my dog is a sweetie but you don't yell at me! He gets up and saunters on over, now mind you he was huge, over 100lbs. She drops everything and runs screaming down the driveway.

When I was a kid, my family had a couple. They're boring.
I’ve considered it, but it’s a lot of work.

No. I've had several yard sales, tho.
