I don’t know the answer. I did a little research after moving to New Mexico and learning the western-most Civil War battle was fought outside of Tucson. I know Galvez in Louisiana, de Miranda and Farragut were big deals. I’m not a history scholar but I was interested. I seem to remember about 10,000 Hispanics fought in the war - most of them not actually American citizens.

@TheyWhoseNameCanNotBeSpoken I'm aware of Spain's conquests in the western hemisphere. I live in what is known as The Florida Parishes in Louisiana. The flags of many countries have been flown in this region. Was just wondering if those in the Continental Army were European Spanish or natives of the west. Or a combination of the two.
