alcohol is a depressant
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
No, not at all, this will only make it much worse.
Sure, you can't beat adding a depressant to a depressed state... which is why alcoholism is such a big problem among the mentally ill - if they are never sober, they don't have to deal with the depression in the first place... or sinking further into depression as they sober up the morning after the night before.
Some thing so. But too much alcohol can have the opposite effect.

No. It won't help

No. Alcohol IS a depressant. It might serve as a temporary coping device, but there's nothing abiding about it. Alcohol can get you into worse trouble with depression.

When you sleep you have less time to consider the circumstances which are so terribly depressing... Alcohol helps you to sleep, so.... cheers
Alcohol tends to be a depressant. So you might feel better temporarily—until you crash.

Just be careful about alcoholism.
Self-medicating for depression can get out of hand
