Not the father...but what about the Grandfather??
When my nephew was born and he and his parents lived upstairs, my sister-in-law would often come down in our apartment to visit with his aunt (me) and Grandpa (my father). At that time, Bridget was friendly with my father because he was teaching her how to drive (her father was too impatient with her). They talked for a while, and then Bridget made mention of the fact that she had to go back to work next week and both her mother and father, not to mention her husband, had to work, and "I don't know who I'll get to babysit."
Immediately, Dad spoke up and said,"You can leave him with me. I'll watch him."
Bridget got a funny look on her face and said, "Well...I'm kind of fussy about who I leave him with."
The look on my dad's face was so hurt, I wanted to cry. With a few words, she insulted her father-in-law who did quite a bit for her before he died. He never offered his services again, so I knew how much it bothered him.

A couple of those instances and a judge would fine the mother or change the custody status of the child in divorce cases .
Keepitsimple · 56-60, F
I don’t know how that even happens. You have a schedule, the father shows up, if they aren’t there you call the police for parental kidnapping. She won’t do that again ever.@TexChik

Never.
The only person who is being punished is the child.. While adults play ego wars.

My dad often claimed my mom was doing that, actually.

No, and I have zero respect for anyone that would.

No, I don't and no, I wouldn't.

No. I also wouldn’t want my kid to hate me for doing that. That kind of stuff comes back to bite you even if it takes 18 years.
MarineBob · 61-69, M
I know a few men that does that to the moms

Many women do the same thing, and for some reason the left wing nutters find this acceptable, hate the male because he is the father

I know two individuals like this. I don’t have kids, but would not use a child as leverage with an ex if I did. That’s awful.

Fuck no! That's so ignorant.
