Yes you should go to Church and meet people
Look around the area where you plan on attending. You will see on the sign what time morning services begin. Southern Baptist would be an excellent place to start. Or nondenominational. Write me if you like.

It’s ok...90% of the church is pretending to be someone they aren’t! You should fit right in!
PhoenixPhail · M
@Justlookin You might be right about that.
Justlookin · 51-55, M
@PhoenixPhail A lot of the “greater than thou” people at my last church had all been previously divorced from having affairs.
PhoenixPhail · M
@Justlookin That's not hard for me to believe.
Going to church is an excellent start. God thinks so. ☺
Dear, the reason I said Baptist is because I have found through much research, and experience that they follow God’s Word closer than any of the other denominations in the area. Their teachings match the Word of God. That’s what Jesus said to look out for. People who don’t go to church wouldn’t know that.
There’s no need for that at all. Just be yourself. They will love you as you are. Don’t listen to all these naysayers. Satan doesn’t want you going to church, but Jesus does, so you can learn of Him.
The church is for sinners, not saints. ☺️
Sure. That’s why most everyone else does it.

Think they r worth knowing?
Strawbrary · 31-35, F
@Childnomore 🤷♀️ Maybe?
No you don't have to do that. There are many atheists that go to church just for the socialization. Although that depends on the people there and if they aren't going to try and push you.

@Strawbrary Yeah just walk in. lol They should be extra friendly to what they think might be a new convert. Once you're there for a while you might see the stuff they try to hide. Like where I live many of them tend to be clique like and hate anyone that disturbs there routine. lol But then all I have to do is go down the street to the next one.
As for hobbies. Things like poetry readings or book clubs, or community classes. None of which we have around here but you might have them:P

@canusernamebemyusername I'm sorry, this might be really dumb, when am I supposed to walk in? During their service? Before? After? How do I even know when the service is? Are there people in churches when there isn't a service going on? (I'm sorry. I have no idea how churches work.)
Ohhh I don't think we have hobby stuff here either then, lol. There used to be Magic the Gathering tournaments, but I never got into those lol.

@Strawbrary lol It is okay. They usually have times posted somewhere. you can then check the times and go in when those times say to. Bigger places might have a priest on hand or someone at all times. It really depends on the church. But you can always ask when you go.
Those would be a hobby thing. I was more into yugioh anyway.lol

There's no need to pretend. You should tell the people you meet at church what you believe and let them explain what they believe and why. Any church should welcome you despite your beliefs.
No, but there are other reasons to go to church. Lots of people are there for the social aspects -- no reason to pretend.

It could work!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Won't hurt anyone. Your lack of belief will be very obvious.
@hippyjoe1955 Yes her covered in goat blood will be very obvious.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
Why meet people at church if you don't believe in God
Strawbrary · 31-35, F
