That you can comb your hair in a really odd way and use a lot of hairspray and not a single person will suspect you're bald!

The diversity, even though nowadays it’s become more popular to consider that a bad thing. 😒

@bijouxbroussard i can only speak as a brit living in england but diversity here is getting negative reactions because the police, government etc are so shit scared of offending other cultures and races that brits themselves are treated second best... i shit you not, the pubs here have actually banned people from wearing england shirts and england flags being put up during the World Cup because it “might offend people” 🤔
@Pineapple I don’t know how it is in the UK but here occasionally nationalists fly the U.S. flag specifically when they’re hassling people from other places. So some establishments, for the sake of peace have asked that not be done, but they’ve been sued, too.

@bijouxbroussard the whole flag thing has just come around because it’s the world cup, and being as this is england obviously there is a lot of England football team supporters... meaning flags and shirts being worn... and now they’ve been banned in a lot of places because “offensive”. bear in mind no other flags or shirts have been mentioned/banned, just the england ones. that’s just one example of why people - in the U.k. at least - get pissed

well according to a philosophy studied in my country, being proud of anything at all is a bit stupid and not encouraged. So it would be rather ironic if I said I was proud of those philosophers.

Tough one.
I guess if we were looking to award a prize to a living human, my vote would go to Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

For all our heinous fuck ups we generally rebound from them and do the right thing eventually and we generally step up to the plate as a country when needed. That, and despite those heinous fuck ups we have come a long way considering we are a young nation founded as a colony for the old hands of world power.

We are the kid in the big picture. Sure we as a nation have our problems Nd our hypocrisies but it's worth noting we inherited a lot of them and we have changed many of them in much shorter time frames than the old countries that we inherited them from. We had a lot less time to grow than others yet we have done so at a much better clip when you factor in the timelines. That to me means the nation is still what it was always meant to be, a place of and for hope. I truly believe that most of us strive for a good ideal even though we have yet to live up to it.
We aren't doing so good now, but if history is any kind of indication, we'll fix it and deal with the next problem on the list. It's a rocky road, but no one said it was going to be easy.
