Hard to respect a hateful view, and I am not for one moment saying that everyone is the same, but if someone wishes harm on another person then I don't have to respect that.

I don't think liberal means you have to respect others opinions.

Respect is a funny word - if someone thinks we should ban all non-whites from the US I don't actually think that's an opinion worth giving airtime or consideration for.

However your typical Trump supporter has legitimate grievances that lead them to vote for Trump. I think those grievances are worth looking at and considering, because the left failed to address them.

They don't respect anyone's views that don't line up with theirs.
