I’m not big on “rating” anything, let alone someone’s looks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

yes. Contributes to the objectifying of people based on things most can't control (beyond make up and plastic surgery), and attractiveness is so subjective anyhow.

People's worth should not be held so cheaply.
And no intelligent person should covet such a rating.

But men are usually visual and women often believe that their looks determine their worth.

I take it as humourous. To each their taste and focus.

I don't think it is sickening to "rate" people for attractiveness. Fact is, we do it, subconsciously, every moment of every day.

What is sickening, is that people take these subjective surveys of other's opinions and then apply it like some universal measurement of truth against their own self-esteem.

If I have a round face, and walk into a room full of people who really think thin faces are attractive...?

I'm automatically ugly, even if I have the most classically defined face of all history, because the BIAS in the room is against round faces to begin with.

Rating people for anything can be sickening

Depending on the context I find it either groteque or so lame and puerile it's humorous in a sad way.

I definitely do. Sickening, shallow... childish. Usually sexist, too.
