I don't have children but lots of parents with their children where I work
Give them a project to work on, and listen to some music

Lock them in the cellar and put on some music, open a bottle of wine, and read a good book. Worked for me.

I break out my paddle ,they see it
they remember where they are
pretty simple actually ,once you have established its not a threat
don't make me have to remind you again ,you rarely have to use it
and yes it does also work on teens

I gave them each a project to do. Keep them busy.
