@Serenitree It has been debated over the centuries as to which term it was first used as. I see nothing wrong with it, cats are after all pussy cats:
Others have suggested that the word comes from pusillanimous, which means cowardly. That theory also holds water (though perhaps not as well as a pocket pouch), considering that when pussy popped up in regular dialogue around the sixteenth century, it didn’t have a sexual connotation at all. In fact, it was used as a term of endearment to describe women in general and didn’t actually get sexual until the nineteenth century.
My children, wife, and myself still refer to our kitties as pussycats. There is no thought or intention to be making sexual references in that manner. To the pure, all things are pure.
However, on S.W. it most likely takes on an entirely different meaning. It is strange how the etymology of words change over time.

@SW-User exactly! Maybe it's because I'm an animal lover that I find it classless in a way I would think someone referring to a child in that manner would be. A little smaller scale than a child obviously, but same kind of ewww factor.
@SW-User pussycat has never been sexual. It is pussy that seems to have been a sexual reference, from what I've been able to find, for about 4 or 5 hundred years.
@Madhatter some people's comedy is different from others. Which is why I'm careful to read write ups before watching any movies. Some people seem to think rape and murder are acceptable topics for comedy. I don't.
@Serenitree Very true. We all have different senses of humor. Personally, i think nothing is off-limits for comedy. I get a lot out of laughing, but nothing out of being serious.
@GraveyardShade yeah I suppose. Can't say I'm overly emotional about it or offended. I guess I just find it classless. Like you're talking about sweet kitties and out of left field someone refers to a vagina, it's just stupid I guess. Lol
@GraveyardShade do you actually know of a classy site? No trolls or pervs or fetishists? Because the only ones I've seen like that are more for serious writers than for simple socializing.
Just, if you do know of any, don't mention them here, or the ones who delight in pissing on anything good will go there and turn it to trash.

I think it's lame that there are always people who try to make every topic about something sexual. Then they get pissy when a person doesn't play along.
