I feel like it’s just like every other place. Lots of great places to live and lots of not so great places to live

I'd love to visit any recommendation for places? Medellin or maybe Bogota?

Don't paint with a broad brush. I don't assume it's terrible for everyone. Some have a good life there, I'm sure.

Because the American media portrays it to be. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear Mexico is Cartels, corrupt police and military.

So Americans in general only hear the bad news from countries outside our own. So it feels like everything south of Texas is all cartels And drug war.
You know it can't all be that bad, but when you travel they send you to the "safe," tourist friendly areas. I'm sure that is probably true coming to America too, but you never hear about it on our end.

Good for you for saying something positive about Mexico! The way our media reports on Mexico we easily get the impression that every Mexican state and every province and district within is run by drug lords with law enforcement and judges in their pocket.

So other than flying down to a beach resort in Baja....we shy away.

😕
