I Know People
I have almost always found with people that expressions of interest and kindness, and compliments are false, whereas indifference, cruelty, and insults are genuine.

Pretty much. Never trust a perfect person. And don't trust nice people either, yeah.
But. Even if they are disingenuous, at least they are trying. Fake concern is still a lot better than cruelty or expressed indifference. Shows tgat they do, in fact, care on some level. Maybe they only care about how people perceive them. But, science has determined that humans do feel empathy, unlike wgat was previously thought in the scientific field, that everything revolved around self-interest. Now we know that it's only almost everything revolved around self-interest, but not everything. :D
