I Apologize

I speak for men, as the men who need to say this the most are too often too cowardly too.

To all of you who ladies who search for love, I know it can be said that you can choose your relationships better, but we're half of the problem here, we treat you like trash, like objects, but you're so much more, even when we treat you otherwise. You deserve the world, but you get trash.

I'm sorry.

You, personally, do not owe women any sort of apology for the behavior of other men. Your sympathetic approach to women is certainly appreciated even though I know that women, too, can be villains. Your chivalrous support for wronged women is compassionate.

@Ynotisay: sucking up for sure lol
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Ynotisay: Yes, I do know that guys do that sometimes. But this is the Internet, I won't be meeting him...and I'm 71 years old.

@Ynotisay: why should your word mean more than mine? Just because you're a guy doesn't mean you understand the minds of other men. You assume my intent because were you in my situation, yours would be different.

I honestly hope to give some comfort to those hurt, to acknowledge them & maybe tell them what they've wanted to hear for so long.

I didn't say all men, but I also didn't communicate that well either, sorry.

speak for yourself...i have the utmost respect for a woman, until she gives me a reason to feel otherwise
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
I spoke for the men who need to say it & do not, as I said, the guys who cause these problems. I'm sorry if it seemed like an oversimplification, but I didn't mean you or well meaning guys.

Unless you have treated them poorly this post is over the top
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
I mean, there's a lot of truth to what you say, but I'm saying this so that they might rest easy, maybe they've wanted some apology but never got it.

I'm not like saying all guys are bad, I'm saying sometimes some guys do bad things, and they shouldn't have to suffer for that.

Then make sure you do not do this?
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
For sure.

Winterwanderer · 26-30, M

Is your profile age correct?
If so, please come back in a few years.
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
There's no pretense to my words, no immaturity.

If you want to understand me you can, I understand rhetoric & you're good at it, but you didn't give me any explanation, if you have one I'll hear it, but please don't speak that way to me.
Ynotisay · M
I did give you an answer to your question. I'll do it again if you need.
No. You haven't "seen the world" yet.
And No...you're not a man yet if your profile age is accurate.
UNLESS you've spent some time in the military and have been entrusted with real responsibility that is.
No rhetoric there. Cut and dry.
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
Sure I've seen the world, maybe not yours, maybe not all of it, but I know what it's like.

I don't think age or experience alone define a man, I think they can give us so much, but being a man is defined large in part by who we decide to be despite the circumstances we have or haven't been through.

I can speak a bit about the world, I try not to speak absolutely, but I think I can say pretty confidently that there are things guys do sometimes that is wrong, & they don't apologize for it. I can say pretty confidently that there are girls who want that apology.

A small thing I can do is acknowledge & hope to remedy that.

speak for yourself
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
*I apologize to them
shadowplay · 22-25, M
@Winterwanderer: but not for me . have you treated women that way? if so you should apologize in a more individual way .
Winterwanderer · 26-30, M
Why should I? That wouldn't help all the people I'm trying to help. I don't see much of a reason not to show compassion in this situation.
